The role

What you will focus on

  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders to communicate the requirements associated with all applicable HRrelated legal/regulatory and compliance programs.
  • Stay abreast on all employeerelated legislative and regulatory changes and/or developments to ensure changes to rules and regulations are restructured with HR systems, policies, and practices. Determine the impact of emerging legislative changes on the organization and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for drafting policies, processes, and procedures to improve on the compliance posture of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas such as the Senior Leaders and other stakeholders in the delivery of compliance programs and training to employees. Responsible for preparing and delivering compliancerelated training and communications to employees.
  • Compiling relevant and updated corporate policies and procedures; including but not limited to, employee handbook, employment agreements, addendums, appendices.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources Team to conduct employee relations investigations which may include preparing progressive discipline letters.
  • Input all interactions in the case management system and/or leave management system HRIS
  • ADP.
  • Responsible for processing termination paperwork, leave documentation, and other appropriate administrative tasks.
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews as required.
  • Coordinate employee related privacy concerns, update appropriate policies and procedures, and collaborate with legal sources.
  • Submit and compile data from quarterly employee engagement survey and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing health & safety policies and programs to prevent at work injuries and/or illnesses.
  • Collaborate with managers to create a returntowork plan for team members on leave.
  • Complete Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) training to become a certified member, as well as attend and participate as a JHSC representative.
  • Discreetly handle sensitive employee reports or information.

What we're looking for

  • Completion of a College diploma or University degree specializing in Business or Human Resource Management and possessing the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
  • Experience handling privacy and security matters is an asset.
  • Completion of JHSC training is an asset.
  • 35 years of Human Resources experience with a focus in the areas of governance/compliance, human resources law, employee relations, and/or human resources management.
  • Expert knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles with excellent judgment and consulting skills related to regulations, laws and policies: ESA across all provinces in Canada, HIPAA laws, relevant health and safety legislation, and others as they apply.


  • Strong computer literacy

  • MS Office products
  • Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to manage and complete tasks with attention to detail with changing priorities.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment with mínimal supervision.
  • Experience with HRIS, strong preference for ADP and HR Downloads.
  • As part of the employment criteria, individuals need to meet company criminal check requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
