Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and promote risk management among business units within Honda's Canadian businesses, including Honda Canada Inc., Honda Canada Finance Inc., and Honda Trading Canada Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIESProvide high quality legal support on matters across various legal practice areas, including: corporate, commercial, financial services, disputes, employment, marketing and advertising, franchising and distribution, and consumer protection- Administer and manage file systems and corporate contract registry- Support management of legal department administration matters- Support regular reporting to senior leadership and external auditors- Develop and sustain effective and collaborative professional working relationships- Monitor developments in legislation and regulations to determine impact on company- Provide legal education/awareness training across the organization

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 1 year of experience as a legal assistant or law clerk in a law firm or in-house legal department

Diploma or degree in legal field or related discipline would be considered an asset
Accreditation through a professional body (e.g. ILCO) would be considered an asset
High degree of integrity
Strong organizational/project management skills
Flexible and adapts to change well
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in the automotive industry and proficiency in French would be considered assets
Develops and maintains good working relationships with all business customers, internal and external stakeholders, including American Honda Motor Co., and Honda Motor Co.
