Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, soldering, wiring, and testing various components.This includes the manufacture/ assembly of the electrical panel, pump/blower(s), the wiring of tables, testing of options, sub-components, final assembly, and quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine established assembly methods.
- Cuts wire to specified lengths using wire cutters.
- Soldering abilities
- Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using a hand or machine crimping device.
- Connects wiring to accessories, such as relays, plugs, condensers, switches, and solenoids
- Installs accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units using a soldering gun and hand tools.
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs, using an ohmmeter and other electrical testing instruments.
- May attach headers, terminals, and mounting studs to etched circuit boards.
Qualifications:
- Related postsecondary education (diploma) required i.e. electrical technician/technologist
- Able to solder.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of and experience working with tools, concepts, and electrical methodologies
- Electrical aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Robust problem analysis and problemsolving skills
- Team player
- Able to bend and work on the ground as needed
- Able to lift and move materials up to 25lbs
