Who is Native Shoes looking for?


As a Key Holder, we are looking for a highly capable floor leader who is passionate about connecting with the community.

The Key Holder is an essential part of the store leadership team and supports the store in achieving its daily goals.

In this role you are responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through connection and overseeing all operations of the retail floor when the store manager isn't present.


What would I be responsible for?

  • Support the store operations through ensuring a beautiful visual experience with strong product knowledge and exceptional service that drives strong business results.
  • Support leadership team in opening and closing the store and counting cash with perfection.
  • Take on projects and responsibilities that grow you as a leader and deepen your knowledge of the business. Ensure a unique experience for every customer that educates them on our brand and exceeds their expectations
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and ongoing development for your team
  • Be a strong contributor to the Native Shoes retail floor experience through your positive attitude and constant ability to grow & elevate your skills
  • Delegate and followup with your team to ensure they understand expectations and offer your support.
  • Be knowledgeable and up to date on company communication, priorities, launches and any additional information required by the Store Manager
  • Lead the team in preparing the store for the day including: replenishing styles as needed, merchandising.
  • Lead in closing the store for the day including: sizing, cleaning, collecting and removing trash and recycling and other duties as needed
  • Utilize Point of Sale (POS) system, process payments, refunds/exchanges and issue gift cards
  • Receive and process stock, involving: unpacking, counting, tagging as required, sizing and merchandising on the floor, with overflow stock in back room and stored areas
  • Responsible for inventory management including receiving, processing, restocking + destocking, and visual merchandising
  • Under the direction of the Store Manager, you perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by request

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in retail environment with Key Holder experience, specifically looking for experience cash handling and open and closing
  • Completion of postsecondary education will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store
  • Must be available to work on weekends
  • Enthusiastic in a retail environment, for developing people and driving strong sales results
  • Ability to work under pressure and responds favourably to change
  • Strong sense of personal style and passionate about the Native Brand
  • Ability to make decisions, take calculated risks and assume ownership and accountability for projects
  • Enthusiastic about giving & receiving feedback
  • Proven ability to independently organize and prioritize tasks and workload
  • Excellent problem resolution skills and dealing with difficult customer situations as they arise
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
