What responsibilities will you have in this role?

  • Responsible for the daily set up and maintenance of the Student Success Centre.
  • Keeps the Centre organized, ensuring resources and information are sufficient, current, and accurate.
  • Organizes Daily and weekly activities and resources of Success Centre, volunteer initiatives, meetings, workshops, classroom visits, orientation, promotion & scheduling.
  • Recruits volunteers through various channels and creating and carrying out marketing and outreach initiatives to increase awareness, visibility, and participation in the Volunteer Program.
  • Screens, interviews, selects, and oversees volunteers and lead volunteers.
  • Communicates, markets, and tracks all program initiatives.
  • Keeps files up to date and assisting with tracking of activities and hours (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) and compiles data collection resulting in spreadsheets and reports for Student Success Initiatives Coordinator, including service usage and user satisfaction data.
  • Provides administrative and logístical support for the planning and delivery of Student Success initiatives including workshops, events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Leads and assists with workshop delivery and volunteer training.
  • Communicates with students effectively and cordially and responding to students' general questions.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with external community partners and colleagues.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

  • Twoyear diploma or degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in Business or Office Administration.
  • Minimum two years office experience in providing highlevel customer service to a diverse clientele in a service/educational setting.
  • Minimum one year experience in providing high level customer service to a diverse clientele in a service/educational setting with an emphasis on leading volunteers.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Volunteer Program administration experience is ideal.
  • Proven ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office; excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets & database management.
  • Proficient with Social Media Platforms for marketing and outreach.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, and comfortable with meeting new people on a daily basis.
  • Proficiency in a second language advantageous.
  • Exceptional problemsolving skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve conflict exercising tact, discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Ability to lead team members and volunteers effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others key in supporting the success of our students and College.
  • Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience, and styles.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decisionmaking processes.
