Role Impact


The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for working with all levels of management to develop strategic sourcing strategies and provide professional full cycle recruitment support for positions in their assigned client group up to and including job grade H.

This role will also provide day-to-day generalist support to the Human Resources Director on Recruitment, Talent Management and Employee Relations functions in the applicable region.

What you will deliver:


General Human Resources & Culture

  • Support identified client groups and the HR Director with employee/labour relations matters to ensure they are aligned with corporate and/or legislative requirements and are carried out in a consistent, nondiscriminatory, reasonable and fair manner. This may include, but is not limited to, promotions, transfers, relocations, investigations, terminations, acquisitions and divestitures;
  • Provide support on the interpretation and administration of human resource programs, policies and procedures;
  • Participate in employee engagement survey initiatives across the region, supporting properties as required.
  • Facilitate the roll out and delivery of Effective Team Workshops (DISC, Team Disciplines, and Team Dynamics) or other programs as required.
  • Lead and/or partner in special projects, as required.

Performance and Talent Processes

  • Support the HR Director with performance and talent management processes and tools including talent reviews and individual development plans. Scope may include the preparation of talentrelated materials, monitoring of action plans, connecting leaders and employees with relevant learning resources;
  • Develop and support early talent programs, as required.

Labour Relations

  • Provide support by answering questions on the interpretation of collective agreements;
  • Responsible for assisting in managing and tracking grievances utilizing established grievance processes;
  • Participate in the grievance process as required;
  • Conduct research in preparation for collective bargaining on compensation elements such as wages, shift premiums, meal allowances, etc. as they relate to unionized employees and prepare summary reports.
  • Track key metrics, as required.

Organizational Development - Program Delivery and Support

  • Monitor the effectiveness of regional programs and assess learning and development needs and priorities through metrics and feedback;
  • Deliver leadership material to regional leaders, from front linelevel to senior manager, and facilitate the learning process;
  • Identify and pilot opportunities to continuously improve program development and delivery (e.g. technology, content, processes);
  • Support development of Building Leaders program content;
  • Educate regional stakeholders on Building Leaders programming and tools, promoting their offerings and objectives and linking these to business strategy and individual development needs;
  • Create and manage the master schedule for regional learning events including workshops and networking events. Manage or support the delivery of these events;
  • Support company's leader onboarding process, coaching people leaders to build strong onboarding plans for new talent and facilitate regional meet and greets.

Recruitment

  • Proactively sourcing, qualifying and introducing top, active, and passive talent for current and upcoming positions. Identify strategies to source critical/hard to fill roles and build a talent pipeline.
  • Identify and utilize Social Media (LinkedIn [Recruiter Seat, groups], etc.) to promote open positions
  • Identify and track key recruitment metrics to provide insights on a semiannual basis.
  • Partner where applicable with the Hiring Manager, Sr. HR Manager, or Total Rewards to update new Job Descriptions for the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Support maintenance and updates to the ATS. This includes administration and user account management. Work collaboratively with vendor to address system and user issues. Recommend solutions and improvements to the system resulting from system testing and client feedback. (only applicable for Head Office roles)
  • Serve as a professional brand ambassador for Cadillac Fairview, promoting our unique Employment Value Proposition and affirming our position in the market as an Employer of Choice.
  • Support the employee referral program to ensure timely bonus payout.
  • Manage administrative support including, but not limited to, supporting the offer letter process, submission of forms, the administration of background checks, liaising with search firms, and arranging temporary work arrangements.
  • Support Recruitment special projects as required.
