About the role
We're looking for Claims Representative I to join our growing team


These opportunities are for a 15 month contract/secondment. This role can be based out of our Mississauga ON, Moncton NB, Dartmouth NS or St. John's NL offices.**
What you'll do here:
  • Open new claims on the phone with clients and ensure immediate handling of the situation.
  • Gather versions of events from the insured and/or witnesses by interviewing them about the events.
  • Determine if the claim is covered or not by analyzing the coverage required to cover the claim.
  • Analyze the information obtained, make decisions that will be used to establish liability and review the assessment of damages.
  • Settle the claim in a fair and reasonable manner, validate damages and complete payments.

What you bring to the table:

This role requires flexibility to work shifts between Monday
  • Saturday 7am EST to 8pm EST

  • Insurance industry experience is beneficial but not necessary.
  • 1 year experience in a call centre environment (in a queue) is preferred.
  • 1 year experience in claims handling is preferred.
  • Willing to pursue your Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, and/or is enrolled or has successfully completed their designation
  • Strong time management, negotiation and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Completion of High School diploma is required
  • University degree or College diploma is preferred
