As a Senior Backup and Recovery System Administrator in the Infrastructure Platform Development team at National Bank, you'll specialize in developing internal and cloud backup and recovery solutions.

You'll share your expertise and have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic new team. You'll promote best practices for data backup and recovery throughout the organization.

Your role:

  • Define and automate user standards and policies
  • Support projects and clients in their use of data storage and protection
  • Create automated solutions adapted to IT infrastructure
  • Encourage your peers to adopt sound practices for backing up and recovering data
  • Implement metrics and ensure governance
  • Help define technological targets and tools
  • Work closely with different groups and service providers
  • Develop control systems for the Bank's IT infrastructures or systems

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Platform Development (Databases, Backup and Recovery)

Competencies required:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology plus more than five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in the mandatory DevOps tools (Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Python)
  • Proficient in storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and mandatory backup (NetApp FAS Systems, PowerMAX, DataDomain, ECS, Cloud Backup, CVO, NetWorker, Commvault, Veeam, AWS Backup, Azure Backup Central)
  • Extensive experience in scripting and automation
  • Extensive experience in AD/LDAP
  • Extensive experience in security software and containerization concepts
  • Experience with Windows and Linux
  • Experience in monitoring and surveillance, an asset
  • Good knowledge of the following technologies, an asset: MetroCluster, SnapMirror, SRDF, SnapShot, Clone, NFS, CIFS, DualSharing, ONTAP, Active IQ & Graphana, BlueXP
  • Knowledge of architecture principles
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Good communicator
  • Leadership and initiative
  • Autonomy
  • Strong team skills
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will frequently interact with service providers or partners who speak a language other than French
