Join our team


The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is seeking a Business Project Manager within the Shared Services division, to oversee all phases of a construction and office relocation project with a variety of stakeholders to plan, implement and report on project deliverables.

This will include working with the various lines of business within the organization, landlords, contractors and vendors to provide leadership, planning, tracking, monitoring, issues management and reporting of all project-related deliverables and financials.


What to expect in this role

Reporting to the Director, Shared Services, you will:

  • Support multiple business owners in managing multiple project deliverables, stakeholder communication and assist in upholding an effective system of project governance.
  • Write project artifacts including project plans and schedules.
  • Develop and prepare Requests for Services (RFS) and other procurement documents for new business requirements.
  • Manage project scope and schedule, while leading work meetings, producing status reports, managing risks and issues and planning deployment tasks for assigned projects.
  • Work with multiple business owners, vendors, stakeholders, and team members to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct cost analysis of budget forecasts against actuals/deliverables and communicate variances while maintaining an understanding and communicating any outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports in the form of summary notes, briefing notes, financial analysis reports, Gantt charts and milestone charts to support projects.
  • Conduct meetings with various business owners and the Senior Leadership Team on project status and escalating issues to management, as required.

What you need to qualify

Leadership & Relationships:


  • Experience in leading business components for multiple complex projects with several internal project stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Experience managing multifunctional project teams, including coordinating, and working with external vendors.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain high levels of stakeholder trust and confidence; and
  • Strong collaborating and negotiating skills.

Experience and Knowledge:


  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, strong project management, planning, relationship management, risk management, change management and vendor management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning, problemsolving and organizational skills with an ability to manage several competing demands while finding compromising solutions that ensures project success.
  • Demonstrated business and technical expertise to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of an organization's hierarchy, including executives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management.
  • Technical Skills: Highly developed knowledge and proficiency in the use of Office 365: Outlook, Word and Excel, proficiency with PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
