JOB SUMMARY**:

The Community Health Survey Research Assistant reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Community Health Survey Project Manager.

Community Health Survey (CHS)

Research Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Community Health Survey (Onkwehon:
we Health Check-In) research activities. This will consist primarily of completing electronic surveys with participants. This survey project will support the identification of health trends as well as determinants of health within the community. The project will significantly contribute to the planning and design of future health services.

In addition, the CHS Research Assistant will support Health Administration in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the Six Nations Health Services Programs while working within the administrative policies and procedures established within Six Nations Health Services (SNHS).The Community Health Survey Research Assistant works within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with Six Nations community, with preference to community members
  • Some postsecondary education in a health or science related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office, Excel, Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • Must be comfortable with using a variety of technology and mobile devices
  • Experience in traumainformed research is considered an asset
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain TCPS2 and OCAP certification
  • Previous experience in a Research Assistant role or similar
  • Understands the importance of Privacy and Confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong awareness of behaviour cues which may signal participant distress
  • Must have a valid Class G driver's license, reliable transportation and be willing to work from different locations (e.g. Six Nations, Brantford, Hamilton)
  • Must be willing to wear PPE for protection of participants and self
  • Good verbal, and written communication skills
