NOTE:
This is a 12-month temporary position with the possibility of extension.

The NAIT Well-being portfolio brings together Student Counseling and Chaplaincy, and mental health education and promotion programming. These areas work in a collaborative approach to support all dimensions of well-being.


Reporting to the Mental Health Coordinator, the incumbent will assist with the administration of the Outreach and Well-being Leaders program, a team of student-staff committed to well-being promotion and education within the NAIT community.

Additionally, this position will take an active role in the planning, promotion, implementation, and assessment of Mental Health and Well-being events and activities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the planning, implementation, and administration of the Outreach and Wellbeing Leaders (OWL) program
  • Assist with onboarding and training of Outreach and Wellbeing Leaders, including creation of the training program
  • Provides ongoing support and mentorship to the OWL team including weekly checkins and event planning support
  • Supports the development and distribution of marketing materials/resources
  • Take an active role in all planning and implementation aspects of both virtual and facetoface events and activities for Mental Health and Wellbeing

Skills & Abilities:


  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of event planning methods, techniques and practices.
  • Ability to timemanage, adapt to changing priorities, and work under tight timelines.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of an effective and collaborative team.
  • Criticalthinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Proficient in using a variety of computer software and systems to support the different needs of event planning and promotion.

Qualifications:


  • Completion of grade 1
  • Postsecondary diploma in a related field required.
  • Minimum two years' experience in an administrative capacity; preference for experience in a postsecondary environment.
  • Experience in supervision, leadership, or mentorship preferred.
  • Certification in Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, or similar mental health and suicide prevention training would be considered an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Remuneration:
$1, $ bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Admin Support IV)

  • This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
