Purpose:


The Investor Communications team is focused on the creation and production of documents that our end customers will read, understand, and appreciate.

It is the role of the Production Manager to be critically responsible to enhance and protect our brand with every touchpoint we have with our customers.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong interest in learning and being curious.

From the investment industry to the investment products, from our related companies to our related competitors, from our regulatory bodies to our regulated acts, from the process of opening an account to the process of closing an account, from our vendors who program, print, and digitize documents to Canada Post who puts the physical document in the mailbox.

Lastly, this role contributes to the overall success of the Asset Management Operations team in Global Wealth Management (GWM) by ensuring our business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Accountabilities:

The Production Manager, Investor Communications, reports directly to the Senior Manager, Investor Communications.

In this role, you will manage, through working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors, the entire production and delivery of specific communications intended for the end investor under the brands of 1832 Asset Management L.P.


As part of the Investor Communications team, the incumbent ensures that the best interest of the investor is paramount in any communication with respect to its accuracy, privacy, and timeliness of delivery.


  • Champions a customerfocused culture to increase brand awareness and relevance with the end investor through every touch point of communications related to their holdings with Dynamic (e.g., statements, confirms, tax slips/receipts, online portal) or ScotiaFunds (regulatory filings).
  • Develop, edit, maintain and publish documentation and schedules for the various audit and regulatory related programs across all products
  • Provides support to the greater AMO and business units in proactively examining the impact of changes on reporting to investors; help identify, assess, escalate, and assist the business units to address any issues in a timely manner.
  • Assists with projects as required; analyzing, defining, and recommending changes to internal processes in order to achieve project goals. Maintains a high level of awareness of industry issues and practices, regulatory requirements and associated changes (e.g., AODA, NI
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values and its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, and privacy policies.

Education/Knowledge/Experience:


  • University degree and significant related experience in corporate environment
  • Strong understanding or willingness to learn about wealth management businesses, including mutual fund products, services, operations, regulations, and policies/procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, build relationships, collaborate, and influence in a crossfunctional environment focused on the customer experience.
  • Superior attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines, manage and organize priorities, troubleshoot, use judgment, and deliver timely and highquality results
  • Familiarity with industry databases would be an asset (i.e., iFAST, CGI) or aptitude to learn systems and structures quickly including operational framework, business processes, controls, policies and procedures.
  • Familiar with print production operations and QC processes would be a key asset
  • Ability to drive success in a high performing, flexible team environment.
