The Production Supervisor works under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Operations, and other designated management as required and will be responsible for directing, training and assisting the production team whilst achieving an efficient work flower throughout the day.


Work Schedule:
Monday to Thursday - 6:00am - 4:00 pm


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work conditions and practices within the production area by enforcing company Safety, Health and Environmental policies while actively using the correct PPE for the task at hand.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Good Production Practices (GPP) and GMP.
  • Accomplish production results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
  • Create and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking stateoftheart practices; participating in professional societies; and
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural management, manufacturing management or business management ideal.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated supervisor/lead experience. Experience in a largescale greenhouse would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of GPP and GMP is preferred.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, changing and challenging environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong Leader, capable of providing clear direction and leadership in a high pressure, dynamic and strongly regulated environment.
  • Innovative and Analytical, capable of accepting/rejecting decisions based on clearly defined procedures and knowledge of regulations.
  • Problem Solver and Solutions Orientated, with strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve conflict.
At BZAM, we provide a competitive salary range that is based on your experience and expertise. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000 per year.
