Program Manager, Strategy.


Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategy, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating and tracking a portfolio of strategic initiatives across ISI.

The Program Manager will manage all aspects of this portfolio including establishing reporting standards, risk escalation, and process improvement.

Formulating, organizing, and monitoring inter-connected initiatives will be vital for the Program Manager to understand and manage to ensure stakeholders are engaging across functions where and when necessary.

The Program Manager will work with stakeholders across all ISI functional areas, including the senior leadership team. This role will manage and guide young professionals to meet targets and produce results in a timely manner.


Qualifications:


  • Education Required:
  • Postsecondary degree in an Engineering related field
  • Postsecondary degree in other areas with significant industry experience would be considered
  • PMP designation and/or Lean Six Sigma experience an asset, but not a requirement
Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in a Program or Project Manager role (or similar) in the Marine industry

  • Experience in engineering, supply chain, production, strategic planning, or program management is considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage a portfolio of strategic projects across ISI functions helping to deliver objectives to key target dates as part of the realization of ISI's strategic goals and objectives
  • Work on project deliverables, managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification and escalation processes where and when required
  • Define project controls and management systems for schedule and performance tracking
  • Collaborate with project and initiative sponsors, Senior Strategy Manager, Director, and external consultants to successfully deliver program, projects and initiatives
  • Assist in the definition of project scope, objectives, and deliverables, aligning all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Delegate project tasks based on project analyst's individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Report and escalate any significant risks and issues to management as needed, ensuring structured approach to resolution
  • Manage project relationships across an array of stakeholders and resolve any interpersonal conflicts or challenges that may arise
  • Ensure regular, accurate updates and feedback to the Senior Manager for Strategy on daytoday operations
  • Work with the Strategic Planning management team to promote employee engagement, foster team relationships, and improve processes within the department
  • Lead performance development discussions in partnership with the Strategy Senior Manager, understanding team member's career goals and identifying any performance gaps for development
  • Use and continually develop personal leadership skills
  • Responsible for team members' work assignments and priorities
  • Delegate tasks based on each member's strengths and skills
  • Coach, develop, mentor and train employees to ensure work is completed as required to reach business goals effectively
  • Lead performance development discussions in partnership with the Manager, understanding team member's career goals and
