Are you passionate about working as part of an integrated multi-disciplined team? Suncor Exploration and Production Legacy asset team retains a portfolio of non-producing properties with residual business, legal, regulatory, environmental obligations, primarily within Western and Northern Canada.

You will provide regulatory, environmental and reclamation expertise support for all our E&P legacy assets.

In addition, this role will continue development of a northern sump strategy and be Development Lead for our Colville Lake wells abandonment project.

This role requires strong strategic, technical, stakeholder and project management skills to assess and mitigate risk for our assets, working as part of a larger integrated multi
- disciplined asset team.

Minimum Requirements:
- +10 years of experience as a professional Geoscientist, Engineer, or equivalent degree, with related experience in the oil industry

Experience with Upstream soil and ground water, hydrocarbon contamination management, reclamation, and a working knowledge of applicable Provincial and Federal legislation and guidelines, preferably some Northern experience
Strategic thinker and excellent communicator with stakeholder and regulatory management experience
Strong knowledge of Project Management Process, Tools
Continuous improvement mindset, working to ensure our processes are more effective and efficient
Selfstarter, work well in a dynamic environment, comfortable with ambiguity
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical regulatory, environmental and reclamation expertise to the team for all of our Exploration and Production legacy assets, with a strategic view to leverage industry best practices
Ensure and support regulatory compliance for our northern assets
Identify, develop, and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Manage projects across multiple projects ranging from initial environmental site assessments through remedial action planning, implementation, reclamation, and regulatory closure, working with consultants and other stakeholders
Review and approve remediation and assessment reports prepared by third party consultants
Continue development of our Northern Sump Strategy, obtain internal approval, and kick off execution plan
Development Lead for our Colville Lake 3 wells abandonment project.

Location and other Key Details:

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40hour work week, Monday to Friday
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
