Operations Manager - Etobicoke, Canada - Rideau Supply
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of the Director of Operations, supervise a team of warehouse employees and drivers, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination
- Ensure that all personnel have the right tools, information and knowledge in order to work safely and effectively, serve our customers and uphold the company objectives.
- Identify inefficient practices and make changes accordingly to ensure smooth work flow procedures that are effective and efficient
- Support entering orders and quotes, supporting Counter sales
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and overall safety of vehicles is up to date and meets MTO requirements including loading standards and load securement.
- Collaborate Business managers to ensure targets are being met and sales/growth targets are being met
- Working jointly with branch team members to ensure that product deliveries are on time and in the most costeffective manner Inventory Control and accuracy.
- Be a Leader, carrying out responsibilities and Company Values in accordance with the organization's policies, culture and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure scheduling for all areas meets business requirements, approve time away from work and weekly hours worked.
- Ensure that all branch employees work in a safe environment and that every necessary precaution is taken. All personnel must understand safe working practices and know the necessary procedure to take if accidents do occur.
- Set an example by following all company procedures and policies.
- Effective Inventory management, working with the Director of Procurement to ensure best practices are followed.
- Ensure the branch meets or exceeds the service expectations of it's customers.
- Inventory management working with Division Managers
