AUDITOR:

The Audit, Research, Evaluation and Ethics (AREE) Branch is looking for an Auditor for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an RÉ-04 ($59,364 to $75,591 per annum). Salary under review.

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Audit and Ethics and in support of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) Part X section 131, you will play an important role in AREE's mandate to provide an independent opinion to senior management and to the Audit Committee on the broad spectrum of the NCC operations, programs, accountability frameworks, systems, procedures, and practices.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION:

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, business administration, commerce, finance, or some other specialty relevant to the position.


CERTIFICATE / LICENSE:

While certification or an accreditation in auditing such as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or in accounting such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA) is not required, it is a minimum requirement that Parts I and II of the CIA exams be successfully obtained within 2 years of appointment.

The successful completion of a CIA certification will be encouraged and supported.


EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two (2) years experience in conducting audits including conducting research and analysis and making conclusions and recommendations.


KNOWLEDGE

  • Of the Institute of Internal Auditors International Professional Practices Framework for internal audit.
  • Of the theories, principles and practices related to a specific discipline, as well as relevant legislation, such as but not limited to Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, and Information Technology.
  • Of audit software including TeamMate, IDEA or Excel.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: English or French.
  • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently required to work onsite at least two (2) days per week.
