The general public to staff one (1) determinate or indeterminate full-time position in the Office of the Honourable Senator Robert Black.

Please note that "indeterminate" refers to an employment contract with no specified end date.
Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of a university degree in a field related to the position and / or other relevant field of studies combined with experience;
  • Extensive experience in legislative or legal research, policy review and drafting reports;
  • Extensive and recent experience in writing documents such as briefing notes, reports, statements and speeches;
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with senior officials and/or parliamentarians;
  • Extensive experience in using the MS-Office suite;
  • Knowledge of communication techniques, methods and practices and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Detailoriented, well organized, and able to coordinate, multitask and manage competing priorities and timelines;
  • Knowledge of parliamentary procedure is considered an asset, as is knowledge of strategic communications, including media and social media;
  • English is essential. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
