What you'll do:


  • Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, labour needs, and construction equipment requirements
  • Provide daytoday direction on site to staff and trades ensuring performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating projectrelated processes and making necessary changes
  • Manage potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts/setbacks
  • Act in a manner that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding project expectations
  • Comply with all documentation requirements
  • Report regularly on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules
  • Oversee opening and closing of site daily

What you'll bring:


  • 5+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent overseeing a site team
  • Postsecondary education/training in construction management, building science, civil engineering or architectural technology is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other documents
  • Excellence in managing project schedules and resources to meet expectations and timelines
  • A strong core value, understanding and approach to safety with a proven safety record
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with others
  • Foresight to predict problems before they develop
  • Ability to oversee and delegate tasks and evaluate performance
  • Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives
  • Proficiency in Office and Project Management software (e.g. MS Office/Project)
