NOTE:
This is a temporary casual position ending on or before December 22, 2023.


Located on NAIT's main campus and reporting to the department leader, this position provides key support to the Student Learning Success (SLS) unit and is essential in ensuring prompt and professional service and information provision to students and staff.

The role requires the ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner.

The employee will be confident in their writing and communication skills, demonstrate an ability to work both independently (with mínimal supervision) and in a team environment, have good judgement, and be proficient working in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires an understanding of Alberta Human Rights principles, diversity, inclusion and disability ethics, mental health office practice, and NAIT wide policies, practice and program details.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Receive walkin traffic to Student Learning Success spaces located on NAIT's Main Campus
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the SLS spaces.
  • Perform front office reception duties including answering phone calls, receiving and relaying messages, responding to queries, helping visitors find their chosen service.
  • Assist with student notifications such as appointment reminders, cancellations, and rescheduled appointments.
  • Assist with entry and handling of data where needed.
  • Enact emergency procedures (as needed).
  • This role may book appointments with appropriate staff members and may handle sensitive and confidential information and documents while implementing Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Policies (FOIPP), the Post-Secondary Learning Act.

  • Broad knowledge of NAIT community

  • Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision

Qualifications:


  • Completion of Grade 12 required, postsecondary degree/diploma in a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in customer orientated and or postsecondary environment is preferred.
  • Experience with office administration.

Remuneration:
$18.74 to $24.38 per hour plus 12% vacation and statutory holiday pay (Classification - Administrative Support II).

  • This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
