Description

The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan.

CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.

Responsibilities:

Prepares and develops significant analyses on various budget requests to support the budget development process.
Monitors revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures against set budgets and works collaboratively with departments on variance analysis and forecasting.
Performs monthly and adhoc analyses and prepares periodic reports.
Ensures appropriate internal controls are in place for the budgeting process.
Identifies the financial, operational, and strategic impacts of projects or initiatives; recognizes synergies and risks; suggests improvements and develops solutions to keep projects on budget and on time.
Seeks to continuously improve the Finance Department's applicable financial procedures, budget processes, and related systems to better serve the needs of the department and the organization.
Supports the Finance Department's priorities and projects including potential assignment for other duties.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Business or Accounting is required.
A minimum of 57 years of related experience is required.
CPA designation would be considered an asset.
High proficiency in Microsoft products, specifically Excel, is assumed. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset.
Must possess a high level of professional judgment, confidentiality, analytical thinking, and problemsolving skill.

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
