The Dental Assistant II is responsible for providing chairside assistance; performing radiographic procedures; maintaining computerized inventory; providing patients with homecare instructions; preparing and maintaining patient treatment areas; maintaining clinical and diagnostic equipment; coordinating treatment outcomes program, related investigations and special projects; digital photography and image database maintenance; continuing care assessments (wound care and long-term maintenance), and performing other related duties.

This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
Certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting program is required. Successful completion of the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) is required. Current registration with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA) is required. Successful completion of Dental Assisting Level II program is required.


Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years' experience with fixed and removable prosthodontics. 2 years' experience with implant prosthodontics. 1 year experience with periodontics required. Experience with a wide variety of dental procedures required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with head and neck cancer patients. Critical thinking/problem solving skills. Experience working in a collaborative treatment environment an asset.
