Description

Your Opportunity:

Young Adult Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker II (SW II) to join the Edmonton Early Psychosis Intervention (EEPIC) team.

The EEPIC program delivers public education, assessment, and treatment services for individuals experiencing the early stages of psychosis or are in the early stages of their first episode of psychosis.

The SW II works collaboratively with the client, their family and the team to assess, plan, develop, coordinate and provide psychoeducation, treatment, rehabilitation and support.

They are responsible for the overall care coordination and provision of direct addiction and mental health interventions for clients accessing the program with a specialization in clinical and consultative social work (assessment, outreach, treatment, referrals) from a trauma informed lens.

The purpose of early intervention is to utilize and support bio-psychosocial interventions, using natural supports to the greatest extent possible, to enable the client to maintain and develop age-appropriate functioning and roles.

The case management services include assertive outreach, screening and assessment, service planning and evaluation, consultation with other services providers, crisis intervention, and mental health intervention to support stabilization and eventual recovery.

Working from recovery and empowerment-oriented philosophies with a person-in-the-environment approach, the SW II assists clients to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of community based, client-centered services that support independent living and reintegration to their communities.
