Full Time, One (1) Year Contract
GCA is currently seeking an Employment Facilitator as part of their new Autism Workforce Development Hub.

The Role:
The Employment Facilitator will provide direct facilitation to youth and adults in GCA's Employment program.

The Employment Facilitator will be responsible for implementing group-based employment training curriculum and individual employment skill building related to interview skills, social skills, communication, and resume writing as well as on-site employment facilitation.


What your day looks like:

  • Work closely with the Lead Employment Facilitator in implementing appropriate employment readiness skills
and strategies designed to help youth and adults reach their employment goals in a group based and

individual setting

  • Effectively use ABA teaching strategies such as reinforcement, prompting, shaping, chaining, modelling, and
fading

  • Support with onsite employment facilitation and job coaching opportunities
  • Build rapport with clients to support progress
  • Communicate and record client programming observations
  • Create and maintain programming materials, equipment and learning environment
  • Keep Clinical Supervisor II and Lead Employment Facilitator informed of program concerns and client
progress

  • Participate in team meetings; collaborate with other team members
  • Assist the Lead Employment Facilitator/Clinical Supervisor II in the following:
  • Intake activities
  • Assessing individual client's skills, abilities, interests, strengths and needs
  • Preparing and implementing activities as per curriculum
  • Conducting skill based assessments, curriculum assessments
  • Development of reports and progress notes
  • Evaluation of client's progress toward employment goals

What you bring to the role:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized university or college in a field related (i.e., social services, psychology or ABA)
  • Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) or in progress
  • Minimum one (1) year working experience with youth and adults with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with employment counselling/coaching in a workplace setting is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and skill building techniques (including communications) with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all clients
  • Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience, and styles
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID1
  • Ability to travel within GTA

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible hours of work may be required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Offsite client requirements (travel to employment partners, job sites, community)
  • Group based setting and 1:1 client setting
  • Able to bend, stop, lift to adult height (up to 20kg) and move furniture/equipment to prepare space for programming needs
  • When necessary, must be able to wear a mask and shield
  • Must be willing to do cleaning duties
  • Outside normal working hours to meet client needs when necessary

Salary:
$58, $65,111.84
