Who we need
Right now, we're looking to add a skilled Fabricator to our team, working the day shift. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing Canadian company.


Fabricators utilize technical drawings, blueprints or other specifications to construct acrylic samples, as well as a number of products ranging from injection molded to vacuum formed components.

Job duties also include aligning, fitting, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts, studying specifications, gathering materials, identifying flaws and operating machinery.


You will focus on

  • Fabricating Samples and/or production sets using 2D drawings as reference.
  • Developing new fabrication techniques based on experience and collaboration with other model makers.
  • Interacting with Production Teams to execute production ensuring completion of jobs.
  • Initiating and maintaining 5S initiatives.
  • Proposing adjustments and/or design changes to simplify or improve the idea/design.
  • Cutting parts for samples using CNC machines when required.
  • Trimming and revising sample components using a variety of machining equipment and power tools.
  • Edge finish, routing, sanding and/or buffing.
  • Creating jig setups for production purposes.
  • Cleaning, bagging, and packing model/samples when required.
  • Labelling of completed samples for easy identification.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

You have

  • College Diploma or certificate or university degree in a related field of study; minimum two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read models from drawings and blueprints using multiple materials.
  • Table Saw/Bandsaw Experience or ability to be trained to use a Table Saw/bandsaw.
  • Must be able to conceptualize process and how models are developed.
  • A selfstarter, with the ability to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at a time.
  • Safety minded with solid knowledge of safety SOP's.
  • Solid problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, planograms and AutoCAD drawings
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
