We are looking for a General Labourer to take up manual labour tasks and support operations on the production floor.
We'd like you to have include stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules.If you fit this description, and you're also interested in doing tough but important work, we'd like to meet you.
Responsibilities:
- Cleanup worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
- Handle and transport materials and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks
- Feed raw materials into machinery
- Assemble goods on production lines
- Monitor the production process
- Carry out basic quality and testing checks
- Store goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse
- Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks to fulfill orders
- Pack goods for shipping
- Maintain equipment and work area
Requirements:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads)
- Good handeye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
Physical and Mental Effort Required:
- Duties can vary throughout each day as can the physical and mental efforts required to accomplish the tasks; they can range from sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, talking on the telephone to light physical activities involving walking and standing
- Manual dexterity, speed, accuracy, and handeye coordination is required when using office equipment, computer, and telephone system.
- Must be able to respond to tight production deadlines during regular and peak periods and to last minute demands and requirements, many shortterm competing deadlines

Please note due to Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements, applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident in Canada
Compensation/Benefits:
Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance plans. We also offer Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective the 1st day of the month following 30 days of hire.
Pay range for this position is $ $18.00 hour (CAD), based on experience.
