About The Role:


Are you a highly motivated team player who possesses strong analytical, organization and planning skills? The Group Benefits Underwriter will be responsible for risk assessing, pricing, and analyzing new and in-force business.

They will also contribute to profitability and retention objectives, customer service and relationships with other departments within our organization. If this sounds like you, come join our Group Underwriting Team to partner in success


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Provide risk assessment and pricing on new business primarily for the small to mid size market
  • Prepare costing plan design alternatives
  • Conduct annual renewal analyses of inforce business in line with profitability and retention objectives
  • Service existing and prospective business within established service standards
  • Perform Block and Preferred Arrangement analyses
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

What You'll Bring:


  • Post Secondary education with a degree / diploma in business, math, or other related fields
  • Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software packages
  • Detail oriented with ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to adapt to change and to offer creative solutions
  • Previous group underwriting experience is an asset
