GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


The transportation of goods within the GTA from manufacturing to distribution points, delivery of customer orders and pickup of purchase for resale items and raw materials are the main functions of this job.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Review trip log, truck, and trailer inspection sheet.
  • Check bills and delivery paperwork to plan delivery/pickup route.
  • Verify each pickup/delivery location has trailers to load and unload products.
  • Using a delivery truck, transport finished products from Tremco warehouses to GTA locations within scheduled date and time.
  • Perform routine housekeeping ensuring delivery trucks and trailers are safe for operation.
  • Sweep trailers and wash batteries.
  • Load and unload trailers as needed.
  • Input load sheets and PO's into SAP for inventory control.
  • Using appropriate equipment, pick and place finished products on shipping pallet based on pick slip.
  • Perform physical inventory by counting and verifying quantity of finished products against pick slip.
  • Wrap and package pallet prepare for shipping. This includes putting on address labels for each pallet and posting picked order to SAP (Goods issue).
  • Follow safe work procedures and practices.
  • Recognize and report hazards.
  • Attend health and safety meetings.
  • Participate in training, audits and inspections.
  • Comply with legal duties and Tremco safety policies and procedures.
  • All employees are liable under the Criminal Code of Canada as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act to take every reasonable precaution in the circumstances for the protection of workers.

EDUCATION:


  • Some High School (from grade 9 to grade 11).

EXPERIENCE:


  • 02 years of driving experience required.
  • Must have 12 years city driving experience.
  • Must have experience operating a forklift.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


  • License to Fork Lift and Raymond Reach preferred.
  • Must have Class A with a Z endorsement license to operate tractor trailer.
  • Maintenance of CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator Record Driver Abstract.).
  • Must maintain a valid AZ driving license with a clean driver abstract.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:


  • The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $ 23.20 to 25.25 This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.

SHIFT PREMIUMS:Afternoon: 10 pm to 6:15 am $0.80, Night: $1.10
