Job Summary
The Manager, Health Policy & Promotion is responsible for managing and supporting policy advisors and senior policy advisors.

This role is intended to provide management support and guidance to staff, and to align policy issues to ensure health policy deliverables at the highest level of excellence.


Manage development and exploration of policy issues, under direction of the Executive Director, Health Policy & Promotion (HPP) and with the advice of the advisors.

Work to integrate and prepare content for review by Executive Director and senior leadership. Represent Health Policy & Promotion at cross functional tables and support the Executive Director in development of budget.


You Will Make a Difference By

  • Managing staff activities, monitoring workloads, performance and adherence to policies and standards.
  • Empowering direct reports to lead health policy portfolios, from a content perspective
  • Providing project management support to align initiatives and ensure ongoing productivity and work quality.
  • Managing staff development and performance, ensuring the availability of coaching and training opportunities.
  • Managing the alignment of health system policy initiatives, developing departmental and integrated work plans, and supporting advisors in the development of proactive and responsive policy development.
  • Supporting development of the Association's health policy agenda and strategies, in consultation with the Executive Director, Health Policy and Promotion and the Senior Management Team, for advancing this agenda
  • Representing department at cross functional tables and empowers policy advisors in and building relationships with internal departments members, and external stakeholders to influence policy development and represent the profession.
  • Collaborating as a team member on initiatives; support and/or lead policy files.
  • Support the ED in budget development and committee support.

Requirements That Are Important to Us

  • Master's in health policy, health administration, public health, LLB or equivalent.
  • 69 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience understanding policy development.

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
