Salary Range $22.559 to $27.465 per hour CAD

Job Summary:


The Guest Services Representative will be responsible for providing support services to all Hostel guests, clients, Accommodation Clerks, and elders.

You will be responsible to provide direct assistance to the clients and escorts, provide translation and any other services when required.


Qualifications:


  • Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment)
  • Must be available for all shifts, Shifts include early morning, days, evenings and weekends
  • Minimum grade 12 education and/or certificate in Hospitality Management
  • Ability to speak one or more of the First Nation dialects of the Sioux Lookout Zone
  • Strong knowledge of First Nation Communities in the Sioux Lookout Zone
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Active CPR and First Aid an asset
  • Ability to work in multiteam environment
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Greets all guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Hostel and its procedures
  • Provide guests with information about the Hostel and SLFNHA services available
  • Assist the Dispatch, Reception and Front Desk departments with telephone calls when required
  • Assist guests and escort them to locations within the Hostel and hospital such as the Interpreter Desk
  • Act as a primary contact for guests dealing with inquires and complaints and provide appropriate forms
  • Assist guests accessing Hostel cafeteria services
  • Provide one to one assistance for elders waiting in the lobby and assist with translation as needed
  • Ensure that the guests arrive and depart the Hostel with a positive experience
  • Ensure all guests receive a Hostel guest questionnaire and ensure all comments are captured
  • Assist guests on how to use the Hostel room amenities i.e. telephone, television, air conditioner, storage locks and open/close windows
  • Provide building directions for new guests
  • Refer guests to Patient Advocacy or Hostel Client Representative as needed
  • Work as part of a team to reach goals and targets
  • Ensure all departing clients have takeout food if unable to attend mealtimes
  • Provide community updates to clients affected by changes
  • Performs any other duties as directed
