    Description

    Purpose:

    The main goal of this position is to provide technical support to ensure the smooth operations of the teaching laboratories within the Department of Biology.

    Responsibilities include arranging laboratory spaces based on specific requirements, adjusting techniques when necessary in coordination with course/laboratory directors, and preparing necessary materials.

    Education:

    Experience:

    A minimum of two years of relevant experience involving assembly, testing, and utilization of laboratory equipment, as well as experiment setup and analysis within a laboratory environment.

    Experience in problem-solving through literature research.

    Skills:

    Thorough understanding and practical expertise in: laboratory methods and procedures in Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Physiology, adherence to laboratory safety protocols and standards, operation of various laboratory apparatus.

    Capability to assist in ecology, physiology, molecular biology, and microbiology laboratories.

    Proficient in: Laboratory safety protocols and corresponding regulatory guidelines, preparation of media, aseptic techniques, as well as care and management of animals/aquatic life.

    Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

    Demonstrated proficiency in: operating and maintaining a diverse range of laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, balances, incubators, autoclaves, and pH meters.

    Interacting politely and efficiently with individuals.
    Paying close attention to detail, exceptional organizational capabilities, working autonomously while prioritizing tasks.
    Exercising sound judgement.
    Planning and successfully carrying out intricate assignments under tight deadlines.
