Fire Protection Services Trainee - Kamloops, Canada - Everguard
Description
Working directly with our experienced technicians in our fire shop and in the field, our Fire Protection Services Trainee will be responsible for supporting inspection, testing and repair work related to fire protection systems and related equipment.
Some of the additional expectations of this role include:- Inspecting, testing, and servicing fire extinguishers in the fire shop;
- Supporting inspection, testing, and servicing of fire protection systems and equipment including fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting;
- Providing onsite assistance to certified technicians;
- Assisting in identification of general deficiencies and issues;
- Ensuring timely and quality completion of daily reports, work orders, and activities;
- Monitoring parts inventory and equipment maintenance requirements;
- Following all safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
- Participating in oncall/call out emergency service as required with certified technicians.

NOTE:
All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered. Give the nature of this role, on-the-job training is also provided.
- Ability or aptitude to operate various power tools and machinery
- Background or desire to work in a handson work environment
- Demonstrated mindset towards continuous learning
- Ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work is a must

Overtime and travel to remote client sites may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work and the ability to travel will be required.
