What does a Primary Care Paramedic do?:

  • Enforce safety procedures and standards
  • Responding to all emergencies on site
  • Providing medical care
  • Completing daily reports
  • Preventative patrols, including foot and/or mobile patrol of exterior and interior perimeters

Qualifications to become a Primary Care Paramedic:

  • Current unrestricted registration with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (NOCP 2011)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the legislation, protocols, and scope of practice for practicing level
  • Strong deescalation abilities and problemsolving mindset
  • Must have a class 4 driver s license
  • Current ITLS & BLS certificate
  • Drug and Alcohol testing required prehiring
  • Must be able to work 12 hr rotational shifts days and nights
  • Must be willing to write an entry exam (EMS)
