Disability Claims Administrator to join our growing, close-knit team.


YOUR ROLE


In this entry-level role, you'll be providing support to our Disability Claims Department through direct contact with internal and external clients and the preparation and back-up of online reporting.

You will ensure claims are registered promptly and accurately, offer support to disability claims examiners, team lead and manager by managing all department related administrative tasks.

You'll be communicating with clients over the phone who may be ill or upset, so strong customer service skills are a must.

You are able to work independently with little supervision. You work successfully under pressure, managing multiple priorities (with frequent interruptions) in order to maintain department requirements and deadlines.

As you'll be handling sensitive information, the ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of client files and data is of the utmost importance.


This is a hybrid position working from our Etobicoke, ON office.

YOUR IMPACT

  • You will directly respond to Disability Claims queries utilizing the automated claims payment system and other related systems as required.
  • You will assist clients with high level of proficiency while providing correct information specific to their group plan.
  • You will address angry or upset clients in a calm manner to resolve issue and escalate if necessary to claims examiner or manager.
  • You will register disability claims within 24 hours of receipt and provide, relay and document details with a 95% accuracy rating.
  • You will refer calls to the Disability Case Managers as required.
  • You will handle claims administration for disability only block.
  • You will ensure client files are kept uptodate.
  • You will ensure that disability claim cheques are prepared, mailed daily and/or sent via courier.
  • You will prepare forms, letters, reports and presentations through the use of Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • You will prepare required monthend reports, quarterly reports and balancing.
  • You will devise solutions to administrative issues, investigate, research and ask the right questions to be able to determine next step or workable solution.
  • You will communicate in a professional manner with all contacts, ensuring that only allowable information is released to recognized recipients by adhering to the requirements of the company's Privacy Policy and the Confidentiality Policy.
  • You will keep abreast of industry and government requirements.
  • You will ensure the Manager is consistently kept uptodate on problems or areas of concern that require special attention.

THIS IS YOU

  • Postsecondary diploma from a recognized college or university
  • Two to five years related experience
  • Clientfocused customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a professional cohesive unit
  • Time management skills: must be able to handle pressure, work volume, meet deadlines and adhere to departmental standards.
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft technology including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Group Benefits administration experience an asset.

YOUR COMPENSATION

  • At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary pay range for this position is $42,000$47,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as jobrelated skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
