Summary:

Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the Capturing Technician is an entry level position involved in the capturing and warehousing of core samples and is a team member of the Core Sample Preparation Group.

It involves capturing images of samples and getting them ready for viewing by clients and laboratory staff.

This position will be working
12 hour day shifts 8am-8pm on a
4 days on 4 days off schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for moving and transporting samples within the warehouse
File generation and editing of images and storage of photographed samples
Responsible for taking photos of core samples
Follow all standard operating procedures.
Follow all safety procedures
Perform quality control checks as required
Daily housekeeping/cleaning of the capturing room

Skills and Experience

High School Diploma
High stamina and dexterity while maintaining attention to detail
Previous experience working in warehouse/logistics role is considered an asset
Previous experience working in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset
Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
Requires the ability to lift and carry 2035lbs on a consistent basis
Basic Proficiency in a Windows environment particularly with Microsoft Word
Mature work ethic
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Reliable transportation to and from work

Work Environment

General laboratory/warehouse environment with some exposure to laboratory photo Equipment
This position requires a person to stand for extended periods of time, sit, and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory/warehouse environment
Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks and frequent heavy lifting
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required and must be worn
Work environment can be very warm at times
