Assistant/ Junior Facility Manager


Core Purpose of Job:


Manage and enhance the reputation of the FM delivery on each contract ensuring the delivery of Bouygues Energies and Services Canada Limited services to the highest standard.


Ensure the effective delivery of services across the sites and co-ordinate their work to provide exemplary service provision to customer against requirements of the Services Contract.

Ensure contractual performance in accordance with agreed budgets, compliance with the Key Performance Indicators; whilst continually enforcing cost efficiencies, maximizing value received and minimization of overdue debt.

Maintain productive and trusting relationships with clients and departments


Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development, monitoring and updating of a preventive maintenance program and planned services schedule in conjunction with in house staff and subcontractors.
  • Assists in the review of production, quality control, maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify operation and maintenance activities
  • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labour and materials
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of systems and equipment.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of a regular daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedule of preventative maintenance activities to ensure the plant and equipment are safe and in good working order;
  • Manage all relevant subcontracts ensuring that regular meetings are conducted to measure performance and that all H&S, Q&E and administration are closely monitored.
  • As an integral member of the site leadership team, participates in decisionmaking particularly in matters related to staff and health and safety
  • Assists with the performing of regular property inspections of common areas, and building interior and site exterior
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decisionmaking process; Makes timely decisions.
  • Develops and manages operating budgets and controls expenditures
  • Assists with the monitoring of the condition of the physical plant and provides information on longrange plans and financial requirements to address capital renewal and deferred maintenance
  • Actively participates in review and preparation of design standards for use in all existing and new buildings and grounds work.
  • Ensures the effective performance and continual improvement of the Asset Management, Quality Assurance & Maintenance Inspection, and Preventative Maintenance programs and that these systems are advanced to capture all facilities
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Keeps uptodate with changes and new concepts in the fields of applied sciences, maintenance and operations, and related areas through attendance at courses, seminars, conferences, and other professional activities
  • Makes decisions regarding shortterm and longrange financial and personnel resources and the allocation and management of these resources
  • Ensure the delivery of services in accordance with business systems, such as H&S, quality assurance, environmental management system, financial systems, administration and policies
