Reporting to the Rentals and Retail Manager, this is a full-time seasonal position mid October to April with the potential for year round employment.

Flexibility in shifts is important, with some evening and weekend shifts. You are part of the management team responsible for planning, operating, reporting and closing the Rentals & Retail Department. You will assist with hiring, training and supervising of staff. Your focus is working as a team with the result that the staff achieve great guest service.


Responsibilities:


  • Uphold Mt. Seymour's vision & mission statement.
  • Comply with all Mt. Seymour policies and procedures
  • The management of the Rentals department and staff
  • Looking for new revenue opportunities within the Service Shop
  • Keeping track of inventory and maintenance of all equipment in the Rentals.

Duties

  • Communicate daily with department supervisors
  • Handling a variety of cash transactions
  • Supervise, lead and coach all staff members in their effort to follow their personal strategic map
  • Daily organization of the Service Shop within the Rental & Retail Department. Be on call to solve minor problems over the phone, 7 days a week.
  • Prepare and deliver preseason and ongoing training, specifically Technician training and continually review & update next years training manual for your areas of responsibility.
  • Be knowledgeable of those job descriptions you manage.
  • Meet regularly with the Rentals & Retail Manager (RRM). Participate in regular department meetings. Also Assist RRM with pay reviews and employee evaluations.
  • Keep track of yearly inventory and track equipment losses and updates.
  • Incorporate new equipment into the rental system, review state of older equipment, participate in yearly purchase planning
  • Perform ASTM tests annually, plus perform ASTM in season inspections
  • Complete all post accident tests and keep records.

Qualifications:


  • Post secondary education
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a highvolume environment,
  • Technical knowledge of the Ski & Snowboard Industry.
  • Technical certification on Head
  • Tyrolia, Marker, Salomon, Rossignol
  • Previous supervisory experience of a seasonal and young workforce.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced level of MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and guest services skills.

Terms of Employment

  • Seasonal position, mid October thru to midApril. (with potential for year round)
