We currently have an opportunity for afull time Junior Financial Analyst.

How a Junior Financial Analyst support our teams at Grand River Hospital:

  • Based in the retail pharmacy space
  • Data entry for inventory purchases and review of inventory logs regarding accounting cutoff
  • Accounts Payable functions such as posting invoices to the "For Approval" folder and then processing these invoices for payment once they have been approved, etc.
  • Monitor and review daily, weekly, monthly sales data and cost of goods sold
  • Daily sales tracking / cash management reports and the entry of this data into the GRH database to aid in the monitoring of the retail pharmacies' performance
  • Tracking of prompt payment discounts and other forms of ordinary commercial terms available to the Retail pharmacies owned by GRH
  • Provide support for the development of financial forecasting models, etc. that may be needed while conducting a feasibility analysis of any projects or other initiatives
  • Preparing annual Inventory count analysis comparing store count to accounting systems and providing commentary on variances
  • Assist with third party reconciliation as part of the month end reporting process
  • Compile data, profile comparisons and generate reports related to current expenses to serve as the basis for the budget planning process for the next financial year
  • Prepare month end financial and statistical journal entries with appropriate backup & analysis
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve data discrepancies
  • Provide assistance with monthend reporting
  • Assist with financial system maintenance including vendor setups
  • Preparation and monitoring of retail pharmacy billing
  • Assist in preparing audit response documentation
  • Participate in process and procedure documentation
  • Continuously drive improvements in the organization's financial reporting processes
  • Other duties as required in the Business development unit with creating dashboards and assisting with monthly reporting
  • Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

At Grand River Hospital, the Junior Financial Analyst has:

  • Post secondary degree/diploma in Business or Accounting or intermediate standing in a recognized accounting program
  • 12 years experience dealing with hospital finances and interacting with all levels of management
  • General Accounting experience including account reconciliations
  • Strong analytical, inquisitive, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred
  • Must be detailoriented
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good attendance record
