"General Accountability:
- Develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs. The role conducts classroom and practical instruction, evaluates training, and certifies that Instructors and employees have completed the required training and are qualified to perform the duties of the job. Prepares and maintains training aids and materials, and ensures the availability of such resources to meet training needs. Coordinates and rolls out training related to areas of responsibility; and conducts research, and prepares and presents various reports and recommendations related to areas of responsibility.
Key Job Functions:
- Conduct hazard analysis/risk assessments, and make provisions to ensure the safety of Instructors
- Develop, deliver and evaluate training programs for specific assigned portfolios
- Develop/document criteria, standards and guidelines for the needs assessment, design, delivery and evaluation of training programs
- Write/edit training manuals, instructional guide, and edit training material
- Coordinate the pilot and rollout to the workplace of new/updated information or training programs
- Liaise with external agencies and other TTC departments to ensure training programs are consistent with regulatory and legislative standards and Corporate Policy
- Deliver both classroom and practical training as required
- Review and provide feedback on new technology, policies, procedures, SOP's, processes, etc. relating to the work
- Conduct posttraining followups with employees and front line management, and deliver TraintheTrainer programs to the Instructors for new or updated training programs/information
- Ensure the education and/or certification of Instructors in various aspects of operations/maintenance
- Recommend action where Instructor qualifications or performance does not meet standards
- Certify and qualify Instructors in specific aspects of their job functions upon successful completion of the appropriate training programs
- Ensure training records are up to date
- Evaluates vendor supplied training and training materials
- Evaluates and accepts new products and/or technologies (vehicles, systems, equipment, etc.) or modifications to vehicles, systems, equipment, etc.;
- Develops, updates or revises competency profiles, task listings, lesson plans, workbooks, manuals, job aids and a variety of training aids and materials
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations related to area of responsibility
- Assumes supervisory duties and responsibilities during emergency situations, equipment breakdowns, delays, special events, etc.;
- Backfill for the Manager, as required

Skills:
- Facilitate group discussions and activities

- Train and instruct individuals and / or groups
- Communicate in a variety of mediums
Education and Experience: - Completion of a post
- secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Should have successfully completed a community college certificate in Adult Education, or the equivalent
- Experience in a safety critical environment and a supervisory role as well as experience developing training programs are assets
Additional Requirements:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of applicable government legislation (MTO, Human Rights, OH&S Act, Fitness For Duty, AODA, etc.), regulations, corporate policies and practices and Collective Agreements
