Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Laundry or designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.

Boniface Hospital, the LAUNDRY PORTER/CART MAKE UP is responsible for:

the physical movement of clean and soiled laundry carts from all areas of the hospital complex and affiliated buildings; preparation of linen carts and orders; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

Grade X

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift.
Ability to lift/move items weighing approximately 50 lbs/23 kgs.
Ability to push carts weighing up to approximately 500 lbs/230 kgs.
