About the role
We're looking for a
Claims Representative II, Accident Benefits, to join our growing team


As a Claims Representative II for our Accident Benefits team, you will be responsible for investigating Accident Benefit claims to ensure a prompt and fair settlement.

Your experience and expertise in claims will help you deliver outstanding customer service while analyzing and acting decisively based on the facts.

Your natural ability to negotiate, influence, prioritize, be proactive and think creatively on your feet will help you thrive in our collaborative and energetic culture.

Location will be in either of the following offices
:St John's, Newfoundland, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick.

What you'll do here**:


  • Manage a pending of minor moderate accident benefits claims
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wordings to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements
  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, customer medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim
  • Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements
  • Team collaboration on process efficiencies
  • Participation in team initiatives or projects as required

What you bring to the table:

  • 2 years' experience as an accident benefit or auto claims adjuster
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or previous experience/education within a kinesiology or rehabilitation environment is considered a strong asset
  • Licenses are required for this position, working towards or completed Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written, is considered a strong asset
  • University degree or college diploma and/or equivalent business experience
