About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director, Recruitment Services, the Recruitment Advisor will focus on student engagement while partnering with the Recruitment Assistants, Talent Acquisition Advisors, Recruitment Consultants and HR Business Partners to provide a comprehensive human resource and recruitment services to designated clients (directors, managers, and supervisors).

As an HR professional, the Advisor supports the delivery of service by completing components of human resource processes and providing additional support as required.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential students hires.
  • Support in the coordination of and attendance of weekly info session to all local health related students to ensure they have the information they need regarding Nova Scotia Health.
  • Coordinate with academic departments, faculty, and other relevant stakeholders to gather programspecific information and ensure accurate representation during recruitment activities.
  • Support the organization and participate in recruitment events, such as university fairs, open houses, information sessions, and workshops, to showcase the Nova Scotia Health opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create promotional materials and presentations for events, ensuring a consistent and compelling message.
  • Support in any other recruitment related projects that may arise.

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • 3-5 years of recent HR or student recruitment work experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare, postsecondary or unionized environment would be considered an asset or the ability to showcase you are a fast learner.
  • Effective communication, customer service, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to understand and anticipate the impact of decisions at departmental level.
  • Ability to clearly articulate HR policies and processes
  • Welldeveloped organizational, reporting, and daily planning skills
  • Knowledge of relevant Collective Agreement and employment guide articles and legislation (e.g. privacy legislation)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Internet Explorer, and human resource information system (preferably PeopleSoft)
  • Effective research and analytical thinking skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and rapportbuilding skills
  • Effective work practice accountable, dependable, flexible, persevering, sets goals and meets deadlines, results oriented.
  • Demonstrated selfstarter, decision maker and problem solver.

Hours:


  • Long Assignment, Fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Based on events and needs shifts may include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Travel will be required

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $36.11 Hourly
