Days - Monday to Friday
Reporting to the director of quality, this position will promote the advancement of the nursing profession through innovation and
discovery within the domains of practice, education and research. In partnership with the clinical educators, the practice
managers, clinical and mental health leadership, and the chief nursing executive, this person will facilitate/lead the assessment,
development, evaluation and implementation for evidence-based practices and professional nursing practices to support the
delivery of patient and family driven care, the advancement of the hospital's strategic initiatives, and the professional
development of nursing.
This role will be integral in providing mentoring support to nursing colleagues across the organization, the provision of
consultative services to the various patient care programs. This role will promote a culture of professional inquiry and reflective
practice by providing visionary nursing leadership. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and
safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.****QUALIFICATIONS: **Graduate of a recognized B.Sc.
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Masters of Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing required
Current B.C.L.S. Certificate required
Recent within 3 years CNE experience in varied clinical backgrounds
Proficient in Meditech Expanse
Experience with adult learning and teaching principles combined with recent teaching experience (patient and staff
education) required
Experience in education curriculum development, implementation and evaluation required
Experience in policy and procedure development using quality evidence to inform practice required
Experience in leading change processes that include appropriate stakeholder involvement to achieve desired patient
outcomes such as Quality Based procedure implementation, new standards, etc. required
Excellent demonstrated physical and psycho social assessment and intervention skills required
Experience with collaborating with interdisciplinary/interagency groups and committees an asset
Excellent demonstrated flexibility, organizational, interpersonal & leadership skills required
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education is required
Self-directed professional who functions with mínimal supervision required
Demonstrated team member, mentor and patient advocate required
Critical problem solving and decision making skills required
Good attendance and work record required
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
Criminal Reference Verification required (see note*)
Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a requirement
