Noble is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team to lead Health and Safety initiatives and guide our leaders on processes and legislations.

This role is particularly well suited to an analytical individual who is well-versed in Occupational Health and Safety fundamentals and enjoys a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for leading the health and safety programs, initiatives, and projects
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of health and safety programs, ensuring corporate compliance with legislation, up to date training and certifications, statistical reports and consistently working towards maintaining and fostering a safe working environment
  • Responsible for building relationships and providing support to our leaders in our Distribution Centre, Branch Network and Office for health and safety matters
  • Partners with the Human Resources Advisors in the development of programs, procedures and policies
  • Assist in the initiation, development and implementation of health and safety awareness through programs, systems, committee and engagement activities
  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee at Head office
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of all legislation, developing and managing health and safety program, guiding leaders in performing investigations, maintaining up to date certifications and records, handling escalations, generating, and completing reports
  • Manage WSIB claims including completion of paperwork, collaborating with leaders on modified return to work programs, creating and administrating safe return to work programs for injured workers and focusing on implementing safe working procedures following outlined policies and procedures
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Learning and Development and HR Advisor to develop Health and Safety training programs
  • Oversee the safety standards for all subcontractors
  • Assesses risks and trends in the workplace and implements safety measures and programs to reduce risks
  • Monitor and establish benchmarks for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Own and assist in strategic HRrelated projects as required

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Postsecondary education in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety fundamentals, principles, rights, duties and responsibilities in Ontario
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibited interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Proven experience in report generation and administrative skills
  • Success in a fastpaced environment
  • Selfstarter who proactively takes initiatives on tasks and is willing to learn
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills with the ability to navigate well in ambiguity
  • Proficient understanding/knowledge and use of Word/Excel
  • Experience conducting inspections, investigations, or program evaluation for the purpose of meeting accepted standards and/or legislation
  • Demonstrated understanding of WSIB Disability Management & Return to Work programs and policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competence to lead and manage difficult situations
  • Capacity to exercise sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to travel to job sites if required

  • Experience in the Industrial, Plumbing, HVAC industry
