Business Analyst, Summer 2023 Co-op


Transformation and Enterprise Operations (TEO) employs ~1,700 members across Canada, US and around the world, operating in 23 locations across 5 countries. This business is responsible for operating and expanding Shared Services to all RBC platforms, including payments, cash, and finance, as well as processing vast array of cash management, payments, and trade products for clients on a global basis. TEO enhances RBC's industry leading position through operational excellence, process optimization and improved user, customer and employee experience. TEO is instrumental in enabling and tracking progress against T&O's strategy, running T&O's Transformation Office and leading T&O's Early Talent program.


The Transformation & Strategic Initiatives (TSI) team within TEO is responsible for driving transformation and strategy horizontally within TEO. The team is charged with leading transformation, strategy and change management in support of disrupting the current way we operate by adopting a new way of working; driving operational excellence; improving our user and customer experience; embracing next generation optimization approaches; and coming up with innovative ways to drive efficiencies. One of the leading initiatives revolves around the Talent Hubs strategy which aligns to T&O's overall location strategy. Talent Hubs focuses on growing the existing Hubs in Halifax, Montreal, and Calgary with the goal to better attract and retain future talent. Success is enabling the businesses in achieving superior business performance and the development of an industry leading shared services organization.


What You Will Do
This role supports our Halifax Strategy portfolio, focused largely on strategy, change, and employee engagement.

In this role, you can expect to engage with:


  • Support and coordinate key strategic events and initiatives focused on driving employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and overall market brand awareness:
  • Strategic planning and implementation throughout various aspects of the Talent Hubs strategy.
  • Communication planning and execution.
  • Reporting and effectively demonstrating value added.
  • Process optimization and standardization documentation.
  • Provide Project coordination support on assigned projects:
  • Project plan development.
  • Meeting scheduling and minute taking.
  • Follow up on tasks and driving task completion.
  • Issue and risk log management.
  • Project close off or hand over.
  • Other administrative support as required.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian postsecondary institution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Motivated, selfstarter with a passion to work in a dynamic business environment.
  • Creative and analytical thinker a "disruptor" motivated by change.
  • Able to manage time effectively and communicate capacity challenges/solutions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Growth Mindset.

Nice-to-have

  • Capability to manage multiple priorities across a number of assignments and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with:
  • Project coordination or project management.
  • Change management.
  • Process Mapping and job aid creation.
  • Project documentation.
