Description
We are seeking a friendly and experienced LTL Supervisor to join our team in the Transportation industry.In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery.
With your strong leadership skills and industry knowledge, you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of LTL drivers, ensuring they are welltrained, motivated, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate daily routes for LTL shipments, optimizing efficiency while meeting customer requirements.
- Monitor and track LTL shipments to ensure ontime delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure effective communication and coordination of LTL shipments.
- Manage and maintain inventory within the LTL department, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for LTL drivers, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for LTL operations to enhance efficiency and minimize errors.
- Oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of LTL operations, including routing, load planning, and customer service.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and other related tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the transportation industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
