We're looking for a Payroll & Benefits Representative to encompass the integrity of day-to-day payroll data entry for employees.

Major recurring responsibilities include adhering to strict deadlines, attention to detail and accuracy, and knowledge of the Employment Standards Regulations and Legislation in multiple provinces.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Execute various payroll transactions such as terminations, taxable benefit loads to enable pay to be calculated and processed, while maintaining data integrity
  • Validate and verify payroll results
  • Handle inquiries and provide direction and support to employees, while providing outstanding customer service
  • Handle inquiries from external sources such as Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Quebec, Service Canada
  • Issue Records of Employment
  • Remit garnishment payments to third parties including, but not limited to, Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Quebec, Family Responsibility Office
  • Leaves, communication with employees on leave to collect benefit premium, updates to benefit coverage when on a leave of absence
  • Payments for employees on leave, process the leave and final pay, process Vacation payout transition to LTD, return employee to work & maintain payment for GRTW (if applicable)
  • Processing incoming payroll forms that changes to payroll compensation, employee profile changes and benefit changes

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the National Payroll Institute or a minimum of 2 years' experience working in payroll environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Well demonstrated attention to detail and analytical/problem solving skills
  • Proven learning agility and continuous improvement mindset
  • Welldeveloped time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
