Your Opportunity


We are seeking someone who brings practical and technical document controls experience (particularly in a heavy industrial industry) and is enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with others while learning new skills.


This position provides document management / document control services for our mining projects and offers a flexible office and remote work balance.

Your Key Responsibilities

Partner with others to:

  • Support project teams in staying on schedule and within budget
  • Tracking, controlling, and providing status reports of deliverables throughout their lifecycles
  • Supporting tracking and controlling the document initiation, revision and completion process
  • Controlling and documenting exchanges of communication between Stantec and our clients
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to Stantec and client standards which govern items such as, but not limited to: workflows, metadata, formatting, document and revision numbering, approvals
  • Provide training, guidance and support for Stantec's electronic and hard copy filing systems standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote a culture of safety
  • Perform project and operational administrative duties, such as:
  • Formatting, editing and proofreading documents and files
  • Organize meetings, attend meetings and possibly record meeting minutes
  • Document project actions and decisions

Qualifications

  • Experience with document control systems and software, processes, and standards, particularly within heavy industrial industries
  • Ability to support several projects simultaneously with ease

  • File-sharing and electronic document management systems (EDMS) platforms, such as ProjectWise, SharePoint, Aconex, FTP sites, Bluebeam Revu and others
  • Familiarity with the project management lifecycle

Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree in related field with minimum of 6-8 years' relevant experience.

Experience working on heavy industrial projects at a consulting engineering firm is desirable.

Typical working environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Occasional travel may be required.
