This position is located in Montreal.

Your role

As a Legal Counsel II specializing in business law, reporting to the Associate General Counsel and Executive Director of Business Law, you will provide solicitor services to various components of the Corporation, including management teams and media entities. Your responsibilities will involve contract negotiation, drafting, and analysis for goods and services procurement, technology acquisitions, new media ventures, and more. You may also engage in committee work and collaborate with senior executives on significant matters.

Additionally, you will oversee external legal counsel, cultivate relationships within the legal community, and contribute to the Legal Department's strategies and goals. It's crucial to stay informed on business law developments and precedents.

We are seeking candidates with the following profile:

Member of the Quebec Bar
Three (3) to seven (7) years of business law experience
Strong negotiation skills for complex agreements
Effective communication abilities for diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership qualities and professionalism
Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
Customer-centric approach and team-oriented mindset
Attention to detail and ability to provide clear legal advice
Experience working with external legal counsel
Bilingual proficiency in French and English
Proficiency in word processing software
