Reporting to the Project Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • To provide accurate estimates on projects in a timely manner.
  • To develop relationships and promote high level customer satisfaction through trust, service, and integrity.
  • To support and monitor client satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • To build strong lasting customer relationships with our retail, professional contractor, and agriculture customers within the assigned sales territory.
  • To provide continuous communication and maintain customer contact during the build and sales process.
  • To participate in the development of products and services to improve profit and increase customer satisfaction.
  • To Keep customer base updated on product improvements or any new product lines being offered by the Saskatoon Co-op Home Center.
  • To execute customer contact (cold calls) to generate leads and create sale opportunities.
  • To be responsible for growing customer accounts and generating leads for new customer business.
  • To be familiar with all lines of merchandise handled in the department.
  • To place special orders with suppliers to fill customer requirements.
  • To forward information regarding deliveries to the shipper.
  • To be responsible for accurate billing of all merchandise sold by the employee.
  • To be responsible for managing and tracking inventory and bookings, completing claims and invoices.
  • To achieve, update, and provide weekly sales call reports.
  • To enter accurate and timely information into Quote Tracker.
  • To work with external credit agencies and customer accounts to support financing options.
  • To investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding products and services, and to refer serious matters to
the department manager.


  • To attend and professional represent Saskatoon Co-op at construction industry events, tradeshows, and networking opportunities.
  • To assist in preparing and maintaining reports as required.
  • To assist on the service counter or on the sales floor as required.
  • To perform any administrative duties as required.
  • To maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise
  • To Support all divisions within the Saskatoon Co-op in a friendly, positive manner.
  • To perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be strongly serviceoriented and motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous
and efficient manner.

  • Applicants must be well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum of
supervision.

  • Applicants must be able to improve the knowledge and ability by attending and participating in assigned training
sessions.

  • Applicants must possess sufficient experience in building materials and construction methods to effectively
operate in all areas of the department.

  • Applicants must possess a Senior Estimating Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Applicants must be able to quote a wide range of building plans (houses, garage packages, barns, etc.).
  • Applicants must possess a sufficient working knowledge of the Saskatoon and National Building Codes.
  • Applicants must possess the ability and experience in professional selling.
  • Applicants must be proficient in computerbased sale software and programs.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel to construction and building site locations throughout the trading area.
  • Must be available to work

mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
